ASU Cares

ASU Cares

Throughout the month of March, Sun Devil alumni are lending a helping hand to their communities by participating in ASU Cares service projects. Organized by alumni chapters and clubs, ASU Cares projects are fun and meaningful ways for alumni to spend time together while promoting civic involvement. The Old Pueblo Chapter has volunteered time to service projects such as serving meals at the Ronald McDonald House, park clean-ups, hosting food and clothing drives, volunteering at a local animal shelter, and adopting a classroom where alums provided journalism lessons to students and brought ASU-themed giveaways along with a pizza lunch. In March of 2024, the Old Pueblo Chapter participated in the Tucson Clean & Beautiful Tree Planting event.

Tillman Honor Runs

Tillman Honor Run

Tillman Honor Runs are held each April to honor the legacy and impact of former Sun Devil and Army Ranger Pat Tillman. These fun run-walks are hosted by ASU Alumni chapters and clubs in multiple cities across the U.S. The 4.2-mile race routes in each city represents the No. 42 Pat wore on his jersey as a Sun Devil scholar-athlete. Registration funds support the Pat Tillman Foundation’s Tillman Scholars Program, which provides scholarships to members of our nation’s active-duty service members, veterans and military spouses.

The Old Pueblo Chapter organized its first Tillman Honor in Tucson in 2019 and has welcomed more than 200 participants in annual runs since then.
